MAY I add my tuppence to the debate regarding the Euro?
Living in a country surrounded by both the euro, (Germany, France, Italy, Austria) and countries which retain their own currency (Poland, Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania) my experience is that the euro DOES increase prices.
For example, the public toilets in Switzerland cost approximately four Swiss francs (£2) or five euro (£3.50).
In Croatia, the cost is two kun (18p) or two euro (£1.25). Forgive me if my conversion is not precisely accurate.
I continue to enjoy the 'natural' currency of this country, until, that is, Brussells and its comglomorate of overpaid and under-worked demigods change things. Then I look forward to being sponged, like all Europeans.
