BOLTON pub worker Michelle Barton has found the recipe for success.

Michelle, a member of staff at Nelson Square pub Red on the Square, has been awarded the Thwaites Inns catering skills diploma following six weeks of intensive study. She was among employees of the Blackburn-based Daniel Thwaites brewery who received certificates from Preston College. Judi Houghton, catering development manager for the brewery, said: "The course was designed to meet the needs of Thwaites Inns staff and customers and covered all aspects of public house catering.

Michelle is pictured receiving her diploma from Alison Fazackerley, Dean of the Academy of Hospitality, Leisure and Tourism at Preston College.

A delighted Michelle said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed the course and I'm sure my new-found skills will be put to good use."
