YOUNGSTERS in a dilemma about their future will be able to try out a range of careers in uniform during a special day at Manchester Velodrome and Philips Park in Eastlands, Manchester, on Sunday, June 1.
For the fourth year running, "Uniform in the Park", the unique event staged by North Manchester Crime Prevention, will show teenagers the vast range of opportunities available to them should they choose a uniform-wearing career, whether it be in the emergency services, the leisure industry or health service. Those thinking about a career with the emergency services will be able to have a taste of what it is like to wear police body armour and handle a police dog. They will also be shown how to administer first aid and how the fire service rescues drivers who are trapped in cars.
Running from 11am-4pm, the free event will also include abseiling demonstrations, performances from the Rising Stars cheerleaders, cycle sessions, a funfair and face painting.
Anyone who would like further details about "Uniform In the Park" should call the Information Hotline on 0161 223 2244.
