THE beautiful Queen's Park should be protected from vandals (Park's supporters in urgent bid to combat vandalism: Bolton Evening News, May 20 ) and from potential developers who might take this opportunity to "develop" one of Bolton's famous landmarks.
There are very few open areas people can still enjoy within the town area that have not been taken over by expanding schools or swimming pool developments, etc.
It would be ideal to open a cafe by the park, as Mr Gavin suggested. The park is so close to the town centre that a nature walk or something similar could be developed for the people of Bolton, and for the many visitors from the twinned towns, to enjoy.
I very much hope that Queen's Park does not become another piece of history from the bygone days of Bolton.
