YOU reported in Thursday's Bolton Evening News that North West Euro MP Gary Titley has thrown his weight behind the campaign for a referendum on an Elected Regional Assembly for the North West.

He said that the setting up of the Scottish Parliament and Welsh Assembly had let the "devolution genie out of the bottle", and given fresh impetus to the case for regional government.

May I suggest that, in equity, it also stimulates interest in the establishment of an English Parliament. Do other readers agree?
