GREEN Boltonians helped to recycle more than 40 million Christmas cards in a scheme run by the Woodland Trust in partnership with WHSmith and Tesco.
Residents of Greater London recycled most cards -- 86.9 tonnes. In Bolton the figure was 1.95 tonnes. The total amount of cards recycled in England during this year's scheme was 662.7 tonnes. The Woodland Trust, the UK's leading woodland conservation charity, will be running a similar scheme next year.
