SPRING View's Paul Hart produced one of the bowling performances of the season on Saturday to leave Standish down and out for a meagre 34.

It could have been slightly worse, at one stage they were 21-9 after Hart's accurate pace deliveries had them completely bemused.

Hart went on to record stunning figures of eight wickets for 14 runs off ten exciting overs.

Six of his victims were bowled, the remaining two falling to a leg before and a catch behind the wicket.

Standish could not even complain about the Spring View wicket as the home side produced a more than useful total of 204-7 when they batted earlier.

Iain Critchley led the way with 52, well supported with 36 from Nigel Geary and 33 from Chris Rudd in the build-up to their 170 runs win.

Astley and Tyldesley pro Bazid Khan came within a whisker of a century when he kept Walshaw at bay.

Chasing a target of 141-6 in a game reduced to 29 overs each side, A & T ended the game with a share of the draw at 115-9, Khan contributing an unbeaten 92 to that total.

The main cause for concern for the other batsmen was the bowling of Walshaw pro Jonathan Fielding. He picked up 6-50 with Rob Faulkner aiding and abetting with 3-35.

Earlier Tony Kelly had dominated the Walshaw innings, following up his recent century with an innings of 67.
