A HUSBAND died and his wife was seriously injured when their jet ski hit a pier support in Blackpool.
The couple, who live in Manchester, were riding in the sea near the North Pier at about 3pm yesterday when the accident happened.
The man, who is in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene and his wife remains in a critical condition in hospital with serious head injuries.
A police inquiry has begun into the accident which was witnessed by hundreds of day-trippers.
