THIS 1937 picture of workers putting in new drains at the bottom of Back Cannon Street, Bolton, has been lent to me by Mr T Flannery, of Parkfield Road, Bolton.
He tells me that the boy on the left was his brother John, aged eight, and off school with a broken arm.
