AN ENTIRELY new all-singing all-dancing 50th Anniversary production of Sandy Wilson's classic musical The Boyfriend is at The Lowry until Saturday.

A strong cast of singers and dancers will be led by multi-talented Broadway star Lilliane Montevecchi playing Mme Dubonnet, Oliver Tobias as Percival Brown and the ever popular Roy Barraclough as Tony's father, Lord Brockhurst.

In 1926 on the French Riviera at Mme Dubonnet's fashionable finishing school, Polly, a millionaire's daughter, falls in love with Tony, a delivery boy. To keep him interested, Polly pretends that she's also a working girl but her boy crazy girlfriends complicate matters.

Broadway legend Liliane Montevecchi has appeared on film with some of the true greats of showbusiness including Fred Astaire, Jerry Lewis, Marlon Brando and Elvis Presley. She created the role of Liliane La Fleur in Tommy Tune's Nine for which she received Tony and Drama Desk Awards.
