Westhoughton councillors are to ask the Post Office if any of its six branches in their area are under threat of closure.
Councillor David Wilkinson said: "The Post Office is planning to close lots of offices and we are trying to find out early if ours are among them. We want proper consultation, not back door closures." The issue will be discussed by Westhoughton Town Council on Monday.
