TICKETS are selling like hot cakes for the Mayor of Bolton's annual dinner and cabaret.

For the first time, the popular event will be staged over two evenings -- Thursday, March 6 and Friday, March 7 at the Town Hall -- for guests who cannot make up their minds on which night to attend.

The Mayor, Cllr John Walsh, said the evening was great value for money.

He said: "The Thursday night is £20 a ticket. Where in Bolton can you get a five course meal and top class entertainment for that price?"

Tickets for the Friday evening are £25.

The Mayor was so pleased with the recent charity Ball to celebrate the town's 750th anniversary, that he wanted to build on the success.

He added: "The evening is always popular and people come back every year, so this year we thought we would spread it over two nights. We are expecting 300 on each night. By doing it this way we can open the event up to more people. And it is all in a good cause as the proceeds go to the Mayor's Coronary Care Appeal."

The Master of Ceremonies will be Kevin Williams.

Tickets are available from the Mayor's office at the Town Hall. Dress is optional with lounge suits for the men.

The Festival Hall and Banqueting Hall will be used for dining with the Albert Hall turned over to dancing for the evening. and Bolton Music Centre will also help with the entertainment which also includes Bolton Youth Jazz Orchestra, who were a great success at the Charter Ball. Topping the bill will be an Abba tribute band.
