COLIN Hendry will delay any decision on his playing career until he has had a long family holiday this summer.

The Wanderers' defender, who has inspired a Blackpool revival since joining the Seasiders on loan in December, will return to the Reebok next month to see out the rest of the season or to work out a settlement over the remaining weeks of his contract.

He could be back at Bloomfield Road next season but he is keeping his options open.

Despite reports suggesting he is considering hanging up his boots because of injury problems, the former Scotland captain said: "I've got to say I am enjoying myself playing and I don't feel any different now than how I did a few years ago. Maybe I'm suited to football at this level. It's maybe not so hard on me.

"I've got between now and the end of March at Blackpool and we'll see what happens from then on.

"My contract at Bolton runs out at the end of the season so I am free to do what I want next year."

Hendry returned for last week's scoreless draw with Bristol City, which extended Pool's unbeaten league run since his arrival to eight games, getting things back on an even keel after a run of six games in which they had not registered a win.

No coincidence, according to Steve McMahon.

"Just his mere presence has helped the entire club," the manager says in tribute to the 37-year-old.

"It speaks volumes that we've not lost in the league since he joined us."

Hendry's Reebok team-mate, Leam Richardson, has also played a major role in the revival that has taken Blackpool to the edge of the play-off zone. The Leeds-born right-back also becomes a free agent this summer and is understood to have a number of clubs tracking his progress.
