THE licensees of a Bury pub have won a top industry award.
David and Gillian Heyes, of the Garsdale Country Inn and Restaurant, Brandlesholme, took the Business Development Pub of the Year title at this year's Morning Advertiser Awards.
The Morning Advertiser is the pub industry's newspaper.
The couple were presented with the award by TV celebrity Clive Anderson at the Hilton Hotel in London.
Mrs Heyes said: "We are delighted to win such a prestigious award. It's thanks to the dedication of our team and our customers."
In only 18 months, the Heyes have turned the Garsdale into a local success story. There has been a dramatic increase in sales, with food up by 40 per cent and drinks up 15 per cent on last year.
