BEFORE Porter was led from the dock, Mr Justice Holland said: "That night it was you who used Carly Bateman for sexual relief.

"It was you who continued that encounter by killing her and by taking her in your car to that back alley, dumping her and pocketing whatever money she had, and disposing of her possessions in a skip.

"You then continued to frequent with other prostitutes, her former colleagues, in that area, without any apparent care, remorse, or conscience.

"There is one thing that distinguishes this case, Carly looked very young indeed. I believe you are a danger to young girls and that was the motive that led to this killing. A motive you didn't have when dealing with older women."

The judge praised the police for the way they carefully planned their interviews with Porter and the forensic experts who gathered the evidence.
