A MINISTER is to hold a weekly vigil against war until the conflict with Iraq is resolved.

The Rev Tony McNeile is inviting Bolton residents to visit Bank Street Chapel to light a candle and sign a book in hope of a peaceful outcome to the crisis. Mr McNeile believes the path to war is being rushed and is appealing to world leaders to seek a resolution through dialogue.

"I think a lot of people feel anxious and frustrated by the threat of war," he said. "A conflict could have a major impact on the Bolton community and we want people to be united and not divided by the consequences.

"A peaceful vigil is something we can all take part in together." The vigil will be held for an hour every Saturday morning at 11am.
