A LEADING MP is collecting a petition against an EU directive which, if enacted, would mean many herbal remedies on sale would be banned.
Manchester Central MP Tony Lloyd is to pick up the petition from vegetarian shop and cafe Eighth Day and take it to London.
Eighth Day's Ursula Gothard said 270 harmless herbal remedies would be banned if a law is passed.
She added small producers and retailers would be forced out of business.
