IN reply to the letter in last Thursday's paper regarding "Crossing required on A6053 Hall Lane".

I would totally agree that something has to be actioned on this stretch of highway.

I travel daily on this road to Bolton and have come round the blind bend and found horse riders, some very young, in the middle of the road trying to cross, and still some selfish drivers will not stop their cars to let them proceed.

Although I stop myself, you get others flashing their lights and sounding their horns at you for doing so. There doesn't seem to be any warning signs telling drivers of a crossing ahead, unless it is in all the undergrowth at the side of the road.
