THE night bus, which has been popular with late-night revellers travelling from Bolton to Manchester, is to be extended.
The Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Authority is considering launching a subsidised bus route between the city and Wigan.
The scheme has been under way in Bolton, Bury, Leigh and other Greater Manchester towns since last year.
It is hoped the new route will increase the amount of people enjoying nights out in Wigan and Manchester.
Wigan, which now has a varied and exciting nightlife, should benefit from the move. Each bus is fitted with CCTV cameras which are linked up to a control room.
