Fashion from the 1950s
The story of Horrockses Fashions Ltd curated by textiles expert Dr Christine Boydell showing off some of the best examples of Horrockses dresses from the 1950s onwards, many of them lent or donated by local people. The dresses were expensive for the time but nevertheless incredibly popular, often worn as honeymoon outfits.

This exhibition looks mainly at the museum's extensive collection of material including posters, film, ship models and personal items from the crew including introducing key characters involved in the story such as Alfred Holt, the inventor of the long distance engineer and former seafarers who still remember the company today.
