FIREMEN rescued a bird from a blaze and made sure it could still say: "Who's a pretty boy then?" They discovered Bert the parrot in the living room of a house in Adelphi Grove, Little Hulton, after extinguishing a chip pan fire.
He was trapped in his cage in the smoke-filled room and was not feeling very chirpy after breathing in lots of fumes.So the firemen from Farnworth took him under their wing, carried him outside and gave him some oxygen to perk him up.
