CHORLEY'S last Royal Lancashire Agricultural Show attracted more visitors than ever in the spectacular finale show.

More than 60,000 Lancashire farming folk were out in force to enjoy the weekends line up of events after it was announced the Ribble Valley is set to be the future venue.

This compared to last years 54,000 visitors proved that the Chorley based show will be missed by many.

Salesbury Hall in Ribchester has taken on a three year lease to host the county's most prestigious pageant.

The show is believed to be the oldest of its kind in the country, and completed its 235th year in style at Chorley's Astley Park.

The crowds were to be treated to a catalogue of events to make the finale one to remember.

A show spokesperson said: "I think the figures speak louder than words, people made the most of the good weather and Chorley's last ever show which went down a treat with all the visitors."
