Walkden won their way through to their second cup final of the season after an exciting last-over three-run win against Westhoughton last night.
That took them through to the final of Hamer Cup adding to their Thwaites Lancashire Knockout final date at Old Trafford on August 25.
Westhoughton, resuming on 74-3, looked as if they were in with a great chance of overhauling Walkden's total of 189 as Adam Coates produced a solid innings of 65.
However three needless run-outs, one of them brilliantly executed by David Smith off his own bowling left Westhoughton needing a boundary off the last delivery to win the match.
In the end they could only produce a single leaving Walkden to go through to the final on Sunday week when they will meet the winners of the second semi-final between Kearsley and Greenmount, which again never started last night because of a sodden outfield.
