A SERIES of fact-finding walks will be held later this month by Halliwell Local History Society as part of the forthcoming Bolton Festival programme of events.
The first walk, around Doffcocker, will be held on Friday, August 23. Walkers are asked to meet at Doffcocker Hotel at 6.30pm.
Four more walks -- at Barrow Bridge, Moss Bank and Smithills among others -- will be held from Tuesday, August 27.
