A RESIDENTIAL area used for parking by visitors to Bolton is likely to become for permit holders only.
Members of the planning committee approved proposals to make the Dorset Street area of Bolton, off Castle Street, into a no-go zone.
A traffic regulation order will be introduced whereby the public can submit their views to the council.
Some councillors are concerned that the plans will make Castle Street even more congested than it is now and disabled or elderly drivers will have difficulty in parking close to the chemist's.
