THE jobless figure for the North-west rose by 17,000 in the three months March-May, compared with the previous three months.
The number of people out of work stood at 186,000, according to the latest official figures. The unemployment rate was 5.6 per cent.
The number of people out of work nationally stood at 1,572,000.
