MR Slater (July 6) may laugh now, but there may be tears later.

He does not have to feel sad for me.

He mentions minority and majority, 21st century and democracy. Does that mean that, in the 21st century, if the majority took a democratic vote to jump off the Forth Bridge, would Mr Slater jump too? If that were the case then I will stay in the minority and shift for myself.

But it is a wonderful thing that Mr Slater can read the minds of the majority. As for God, he has made it clear in that "Ancient Book" (Bible) what is expected of mankind, and I don't think he will be looking for a democratic show of hands as to what mankind will or will not accept from that "Ancient Book" (Bible). Mr Slater mentions being enlightened, but he does not say by what, or by whom. His letter gives the impression that he is not a believer. If that is the case then why does he thank God in his letter?

Now as for the Bible texts he has selected and submitted. Yes, I think I do know what they mean, but Mr Slater does not say why these particular Bible texts. What point is he trying to make?
