HORWICH Golf Club is mourning the death of its captain David Leighton.
The 55 year-old took office in February but died last week after losing his fight with cancer. His duties will be taken by vice-captain Rod Jones.
A popular member, Mr Leighton joined the club in 1993 and served on the council before becoming vice-captain last year.
A service will be held at Overdale West Chapel tomorrow at 3pm prior to committal.
