MOTORISTS in Bolton face diversions of up to 12 months while repair work to an old retaining wall alongside the road and stream on Barrow Bridge Road is carried out.
The wall is in danger of collapsing and the road through the village has been closed by Bolton Council.
Traffic will be diverted through Barrow Bridge Road, Longshaw Ford Road, Colliers Row, Smithills Dean Road and Smithills Croft Road.
