A TEACHER who is "like a mum" to a group of young teenage mothers has been given special thank-you in flowers.

Lorna McIvor runs the unit for young mums at the Clarence Street centre of Bolton Community College and is "very special in a lot of ways" according to one of them, 16 year-old Nicola Owen.

She wrote nominating Lorna for the Bolton Evening News' Bouquet of the Week: "Lorna is more like a mum to us all and will go out of her way to help anybody.

"She's more than just a teacher. She listens to our problems and will help us in any way she can. She treats us all like her own daughters.

"She even brought her chocolates that had been bought for her for Mother's Day and shared them with us girls. "Lorna is always cheerful and happy, and great with the babies. She's the perfect person for the job she does.

"I'm going to really miss her, and I'm sure the other girls will, when we all leave the college on presentation day."

Lorna was thrilled to received the bouquet, which came courtesy of Caroline Ward's flower and gift delivery service 0800-289-335).
