AN after-school project has won a national award for providing lively activities for youngsters.
The Horwich and Blackrod Learning Community Project has been presented with the award by the charity Education Extra charity.
The after-school scheme was set up with Lottery cash 18 months ago to provide stimulating study opportunities for children in nine primary schools in the area.
The youngsters join the initiative for five weeks and work on projects ranging from healthy eating to the Commonwealth Games.
