A MAJOR campaign aimed at making asylum seekers and refugees more welcome is being launched this week.
The group is sending out 1,000 pledge packs to bodies in Greater Manchester, asking them to help make local communities more welcoming.
Refugee Action says often they escape persecution and terror, only to be harassed and attacked in Britain.
Last week asylum seekers were moved to safety after petrol bombs were thrown near their accommodation in Wigan.
