EGERTON had to rely on a stubborn batting partnership between John Dudley and Chris Tye to earn a draw against Heaton.
Egerton looked down and out at 35-7 chasing Heaton's 208-7 but then Dudley and Tye defied the bowlers for nearly two hours to drag out a final total of 62-8.
It did not make for exciting action as Dudley finished unbeaten on nine in that time while Tye scored 15 before he lost his wicket.
That was in complete contrast to the batting show from Heaton pro Hirwani. He was run out on the last ball of the match after scoring 59, his half century coming off 29 balls with four sixes and three fours.
