I DO enjoy reading Rev Michael Williams' column in the Bolton Evening News, but on a number of occasions I believe he has been wrong and ill advised.
Firstly, Jesus does not approve of the legalisation of drugs or prostitution. Jesus said: "If any man or woman shall call upon me, I will answer and save them from their sins" (1 John 1). If we really want to deal with these two areas then have to get our priorities right (Luke 8), every human being is precious and no one is too bad that they cannot receive His healing and forgiveness (John 5). All things are possible with God.
Secondly, Jesus is not involved in multi-faith religion. We are called to love our neighbours as Christ did, but it does not mean that we abdicate the truth. Jesus said: "I am the way, the truth, and the life."
The problem is not that Christians agree or disagree with Rev Michael Williams. Jesus said that: "Christians will be persecuted for their faith." It has already started in Bolton.
