PUPILS had an opportunity to find out more about the delights of becoming a university student when a roadshow visited their school.
The Year Nine group at the Withins School chatted to a recent graduate as part of the Aimhigher roadshow which has been launched to encourage secondary school pupils to stay on in further education.
The campaign's focus is to reach teenagers from families and communities who might not have a tradition of entering higher education.
The pupils watched an interactive film and had the chance to look at a website about what courses are available.
The graduate, Paul Moody, said: "The pupils at Withins School have been great.
"Before they came in, a lot of the kids thought they were too young to think about going to university.
"But you're never too young to think about your future and when the pupils left a lot of them had decided higher education was for them."
The campaign has been backed by key celebrities from the world of music and sport including Radio One DJ Judge Jules and Liverpool and England footballer Steven Gerrard.
