A BOLTON museum will be helping uncover the secrets of archaeology in connection with National Archaeology Days.

Hall i' th' Wood Museum, off Crompton Way, will be encouraging the public to join in a variety of activities including wattle and daub work, a mini dig and a treasure trail.

The event takes place from 11am to 5pm on July 27 and 28. For more information contact Vicky Geddes on 01204 332370.

There are other archaeological days taking place in the North-west as part of the event, including one at the Garstang Discovery Centre, near Preston, where the public will be digging up the past at an interactive exhibition.

The event takes place over the weekend of July 20 and 21 from 10.30am to 4.30pm. For more information on this event contact Lesley Harrison on 01253 887439.
