BOLTON Council's new-look Bolton Scene has been praised as a local government newspaper.
The commendations came after it was short-listed for three awards - Publication of the Year, Winning by Design and Editor of the Year - at the Northcliffe Press Awards or public sector publications.
The newspaper has undergone a major revamp over the past year or so, becoming full colour; going through a complete redesign; moving from four pages to 12 and being distributed to every household in the borough every month.
It is produced by the Bolton Evening News on behalf of the council.
Council leader Bob Howarth said: "It is a credit to all the hard work that has been done by all staff who have worked on it during the past year.
"We are now producing an informative publication that people actually want to pick up and read."
