A 45-YEAR-OLD man has been jailed for 18 months for indecently assaulting a pensioner after asking her in the street for directions.
David Madley had walked into the 73-year-old woman's home and grabbed her as she got him a glass of water, Bolton Crown Court was told.
The pensioner told the court she had been stopped by a man asking for directions but told him she could not help. A few minutes later the man appeared at her side inside her home asking for a drink of water.
While she was in the kitchen the man came up behind her and indecently assaulted her.
Madley, aged 45, of Radcliffe Moor Road, Bolton, denied indecent assault, claiming he had heard groaning noises from the kitchen and had grabbed her because he thought she was going to fall.
