A CITY'S annual river festival was officially launched today.
Liverpool's Mersey River Festival is expected to attract more than 200 vessels, including a record number of tall ships.
The entertainment includes the singing of sea shanties from around the world, a dragon boat race and a helicopter display by the Royal Marines.
There will also be street theatre and military bands for what is the festival's 22nd year.
