MARJORIE Wassall certainly did not need any breakfast this morning -- after a fantastic gourmet dinner last night cooked by international master chef Albert Roux.
Mrs Wassall, of Crescent Road, Bolton, was a VIP guest at the Reflections Restaurant at the De Vere Whites Hotel, Middlebrook, after winning a Bolton Evening News competition.
And her verdict: "It was wonderful. Mr Roux was charming and the staff really looked after us. The food was excellent. It was so good I could not eat any breakfast today."
Retired Mrs Wassall took along her husband, Graham, to sample the delights of Mr Roux's cooking and the couple were treated to a behind the scenes look at the kitchens where the guest chef had created his sumptuous, five-course menu. Up to 60 diners enjoyed dishes including asparagus soup with truffles and a ragout of lobster with scallops.
Mrs Wassall was delighted with her prize. "I have won a day at York races and a season ticket at the Wanderers in Bolton Evening News competitions. We had a lovely evening."
