ORGANISERS of this year's Horwich Carnival are looking for help from the public to make sure the event runs smoothly, on June 21, 22 and 23.
Stewards and street collectors are needed for both the cycle race on Friday, June 21 between 6pm and 9pm and also for the parade, on Sunday June 23, from 1pm until 3pm. Street collectors must be aged 16 or over, and will carry official carnival collection boxes.
It is still not too late to enter the parade, which will leave Horwich RMI at 1pm. The carnival committee is asking groups who got together to celebrate the Jubilee or World Cup to come along in their costumes.
The committee is also inviting owners of interesting vehicles to join the parade to transport the carnival queens.
Bookings are still being taken for trade and charity stalls. For more information contact Carol Walker on 01204 695484.
For more carnival details contact Barbara Ronson on 01204 695742.
