EURO-MP Gary Titley is celebrating after the European Parliament voted to ban the sale of cosmetics tested on animals.
In a vote in Strasbourg MEPs decided shops will not be allowed to put items such as shampoos, shower gels and lipsticks on their shelves from 2005 if they have been tested on animals.
"MEPs have fought a long-running battle with a reluctant European Commission to end the needless killing of almost 40,000 animals in the EU each year," said Mr Titley.
