Following the departure of The Street's longtime barmaid Betty Williams from the Rover's Return, there could now be major hotpot withdrawal symptoms.
The bar regulars never seemed to order anything else -- though why they're not all 15 stone and counting as a result is unknown.
Incidentally, in spite of Betty's hotpot being so popular over the years (it was actually made into a commercial product), actress Betty Driver probably couldn't tell you if it was any good or not.
She never eats the traditional Lancashire meat, potato and vegetable dish because she told me at the product's launch that she's a vegetarian.
