BOLTON Lads and Girls Club are celebrating after a magnificent victory in the national Lions Clubs Multiple District under-16s competition.

The final, against Swindon outfit Highworth Juniors, took place at Ipswich Town's Portman Road ground.

In a high-tempo game, Bolton took the upper hand from the first half but could not convert their dominance in to goals.

But on 85 minutes a long ball in to the Highworth penalty area led to a scramble and Sam Pepper smashed the ball home.

Bolton, coached by Gary Russell, had to absorb pressure for the last five minutes but held on for a famous triumph.
