A FATHER Christmas has been awarded £14,000 compensation after he fell off a festival float.
Thomas Killoran, aged 48, of Bolton Road, Radcliffe, was dressed up as Santa Claus for the Radcliffe Rotary Club in 1998, when the accident happened.
The float was being driven from Unsworth Street on to the Red Bank playing fields in Radcliffe when Mr Killoran fell and landed on his left hip. Mr Killoran sued the club for negligence at Manchester County Court.
