A BANNED driver decided to drive to a petrol station rather than let his friend who was drunk get behind the steering wheel, a court heard.
Sean Michael Patrick Moore admitted driving while disqualified, without insurance and failing to answer bail when he appeared before Rochdale magistrates.
Magistrates ordered pre-sentence reports with all options to be considered on Moore, aged 19, of Holme Avenue, Bury. He was bailed to re-appear in court for sentencing on July 1.
The court heard that Moore was seen driving from Heap Brow to the petrol station at Heap Bridge, Heywood, where he was questioned on the forecourt by police officers. The police checked records and found that Moore had been disqualified in January for one year by Bury magistrates for drink driving.
