ANGER at being arrested and kept in a cell drove an unemployed joiner to smash a window, Bolton court was told.

Scott Alexander James McCullogh, of Thornbank South, Deane, had been arrested on suspicion of motoring offences and was detained at Bolton Central Police Station.

But the court heard that after he had been kept there for some time without seeing his solicitor he banged on the window until it broke. He was ordered to pay £50 compensation and £80 costs.
