A NEW leader has emerged at the top of the Bolton Evening News Naps competition after Just James romped home at 20-1 in the 3.30 at Newmarket on Saturday.

Three of our teams - Caught Napping, Hick Ups and Woodcock Wonders - backed the best priced winner of the day.

But it was Caught Napping who were the real winners as the selection jumped them to the top, well ahead of second placed Mustangs.

Yet again, there were plenty of favourite backers with Common World surviving a Steward's Inquiry to win the 2.20 at Haydock by a short head for a popular success.

But after being backed down from 3-1 in the morning to 7-4 Fav selections like that will make little impression on the leaders.

Top winning bets each week have been Falcon Hill at 11-1, Snow Shoes and Bindaree at 20-1, Florentine Flutter at 8-1, The Judge 12-1, Sarangani at a massive 33-1, Rock of Gibraltar 9-1 and Barrantes, again a big winner at 33-1, Hideaway Heroine 16-1, and now Just James at 20-1.

Two hundred teams are taking part in the Anthony Axford sponsored competition, with a first prize of £500 to the winners.
