YOURI Djorkaeff has admitted that he wouldn't be in Korea with the French World Cup squad preparing to defend his country's crown if it wasn't for his transfer to Bolton Wanderers in February.

The midfielder was billed as the greatest signing in the club's history when he swapped Kaiserslautern for the Reebok Stadium in February.

The former Paris St Germain and Inter Milan star scored four goals in Wanderers successful quest for Premiership survival and promptly earned himself a recall into Roger Le Merre's plans for the World Cup.

Djorkaeff said: "If it (his transfer to Bolton Wanderers) hadn't worked out, there is no doubt I wouldn't be here today.

"On every level, my move to Bolton did me good. It gave me a challenge, to help save the club from relegation."
