THE centenary of the badminton section of the Markland Hill LTC and the 75th anniversary of the club were marked by a gala dinner.
The badminton section was founded as Bolton Badminton Club in September 1901 and is the oldest badminton club in the country.
The club's home for many years was the Drill Hall, Silverwell Street, before it amalgamated with the tennis club in 1971.
